A contractor must screen the building site with 1.5m high 40% green / blue shade cloth. The shade cloth must be properly fixed to wooden frames, 1.5 x 3.0m (max). The frames must be fixed to wooden / steel poles which should be firmly anchored to withstand strong winds.
Contractors are at all times responsible for their sub-contractos and employees, guests, invitees and agents. The Contrator is also responsible for any person making deliveries to site. Any damages caused by his own employees, sub-contractors employed by him or vehicles delivering materials to his site, will make him liable for any damages that may be done to private property or public areas - pathways, parking area, public open spaces, vegetation, fencing and so forth.
No raw galvanised iron huts or roofs are allowed on site. The Contractor must make use of containers for offices and stores. These should be painted in an earth tone colour - white is not permitted.
A Contractor's signboard must be erected on the building site at the Contractor's cost. No signboards of any kind are allowed on Victoria Road and any sign must be below the level of the road.
All soil, rocks, spoil material, rubble and litter must be removed and whilst awaiting collection, must be stored in the site allocated by The City for storage purposes - not on the pavement or public open space. The Contractor is expected to practice good housekeeping by keeping the appearance of his building site neat and tidy at all times.
Contractors must ensure that the road in front of their building site is AT ALL TIMES swept clean. This is to minimise damage and protect the road surface. Contractors must ensure that pathways are adequately protected from damage by building operations.
Scaffolding materials must be stored in an orderly fashion, within the bounds of the site. The Owner will be held financially and legally responsible for damage to road surfaces and paths caused by his Contractor. Any damages must be repaired.
